"Being a voice for the voiceless".
God creates every human being out of love with dignity and respect, but all too often that dignity and respect is trampled upon and destroyed by the culture of death that surrounds us. Every human being has a God-given right to life from conception to natural death, regardless of their perceived value to society. Through prayer, fasting and education we aim to change the darkness of evil into the light of truth.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph #2270 states:
"Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person - among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life."
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. (Jeremiah 1: 4-8)
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth. (Psalm 139)
The Pro-Life Ministry of St. John's Cathedral is dedicated to educating and promoting awareness of abortion and its devastating effects on the unborn child, mother and the community as a whole.
